Our Story

It started with a bag.

We were in Nantucket, and Jen had a Croctech bag that people kept stopping her about. Not once or twice — constantly. Strangers on the street, in shops, on the ferry. Everyone wanted to know where it was from.

That happened to us a lot. Between the two of us we'd become the people our friends texted before buying anything: the serum, the pan, the towels, the bag. We'd already done the research. We'd already returned the bad version.

So we started making videos about the things we loved. Hundreds of them. And they worked — people watched, people asked, people wanted. But every video sent them somewhere else. A link, a search, a marketplace full of ten near-identical versions and no way to tell which one was the good one. All that attention went nowhere.

Foundhouse is where it goes now.

What we built

One place. Four to six things a week. Every one bought with our own money, used for weeks, and chosen because we'd buy it twice. If it doesn't clear that bar, it doesn't go up — and most things don't.

We're not trying to be a marketplace. We're not trying to carry everything. We're trying to be the shop where you don't have to think, because the thinking already happened.

Who we are

Riley and Jen. Two friends with unreasonably high standards and a shared inability to settle for the almost-right version of anything.

New finds every Friday. See them Thursday if you're on the list.
